Truck Crash on Camera Platform in Tuzla.

A truck carrying excavation equipment caused a terrible accident in Tuzla, Istanbul. The incident happened on the D-100 highway in the direction of Ankara at around 3:30 am. The TIR with the license plate 41 BK 668, driven by Cemil Aslan, forgot to lower its tipper after unloading the excavation at a construction site.
As the TIR entered the highway, the tipper became attached to the platform where the inspection cameras of the Highways Inspection Station were located. The collision caused the platform to dismantle, and the TIR fell onto the side of the road.
Health, fire, and police teams immediately arrived at the scene after the incident was reported. The fire department rescuers extracted Cemil Aslan from the truck and delivered him to the medical teams. The injured driver received first aid on the spot and was taken to a hospital for further treatment.
The accident caused the D100 Ankara direction to be entirely closed to traffic. After the TIR was lifted with the help of a crane, the traffic flow gradually returned to normal. The investigation into the cause of the accident is still ongoing.
Accidents like these serve as a reminder to always double-check our vehicles before hitting the road. It is important to ensure that everything is in good working condition, and all precautions are taken to avoid endangering the lives of ourselves and others on the road.
