
Turkey and TRNC Sign Economic and Financial Cooperation Agreement for 2024 – BRTK报道

The Türkiye-TRNC 2024 Economic and Financial Cooperation Agreement has officially entered into force, as announced by Vice President of the Republic of Turkey Cevdet Yılmaz. This agreement, which allocated around 16 billion liras, includes transfers from 2023 and aims to fund various projects in areas such as transportation, infrastructure, tourism, industry, education, health, energy, agriculture, modern irrigation, and entrepreneurship.
Yılmaz emphasized the importance of the agreement and expressed his commitment to completing the projects included in it without delay. He highlighted the significance of cooperation and solidarity between Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) in ensuring the economic and social development of the Turkish Cypriots. Yılmaz stated that a productive, growing, and prosperous TRNC with a strong financial structure is a national concern for Turkey.
The agreement was signed with the Prime Minister of the TRNC, Unal Üstel, on June 5 and was recently published in the Official Gazette. The decision for it to enter into force was made by the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Yılmaz expressed optimism about the potential benefits of the agreement for both countries and the region as a whole. The focus is on enhancing the economic and social well-being of the Turkish Cypriots through joint efforts and efficient project implementation.
