Turkey Successfully Carries Out Exchange of 26 Individuals in Recent Swap Operation
In a recent announcement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Turkey has successfully completed the most extensive swap operation in recent times. The operation involved the mutual exchange of a total of 26 individuals who were held in prisons across seven different countries including the USA, Germany, Poland, Slovenia, Norway, Russia, and Belarus. The exchange took place in Ankara, Turkey’s capital city.
According to the statement released by the ministry, a total of 7 planes were used to transfer the individuals to Turkey. Among those who were brought to Turkey, 2 were from the USA, and 1 each from Germany, Poland, Slovenia, Norway, and Russia. As part of the swap operation, 10 hostages, including 2 children, were transferred to Russia, 13 hostages to Germany, and 3 hostages to the USA.
The statement highlighted the meticulous planning and execution of the operation, stating that all security measures, logistic planning, and requirements were overseen by Turkey’s National Intelligence Organization. The ministry reiterated Turkey’s commitment to promoting peace and stability in the international arena and pledged to continue providing support for such initiatives.
