Turkey Strongly Condemns Israel’s Decision to Expand Illegal Settlements in the Golan Heights
Turkey’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a strong condemnation of Israel’s decision to expand illegal settlements in the Golan Heights, an area that has been occupied by Israel since 1967.
In a written statement, the Ministry expressed deep concern over Israel’s actions, particularly its entry into the separation zone between Israel and Syria in violation of the 1974 Separation of Forces Agreement, as well as its advancement into neighboring regions and airstrikes against Syria.
The Ministry emphasized that Israel’s continued activities are detrimental to efforts to establish peace and stability in Syria, and only serve to further escalate tensions in the region. The statement explicitly stated, “We strongly condemn Israel’s decision to expand illegal settlements in the Golan Heights, which it has occupied since 1967.”
The Ministry called on the international community to respond appropriately to Israel’s actions and urged for an end to the illegal activities of the Israeli government led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Describing Israel’s expansion of illegal settlements as part of its broader strategy to expand its borders through occupation, the Ministry emphasized the need for the international community to take a firm stand against such actions.
Turkey’s firm stance against Israel’s expansion of illegal settlements in the Golan Heights reflects its commitment to upholding international law and supporting efforts to achieve peace in the region.
