Lake Eber, located in Turkey’s Ankara province, is notable for the unique flower growing in the vicinity – the “Eber yellow.” According to the Lake Eber field guide and guide Kadir Ateş, it is the only species in the world capable of producing three fruits from a single flower. Unfortunately, the flower is also in danger due to people plucking and taking them away.
To protect the “Eber yellow” from extinction, the 5th Regional Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks has imposed a significant penalty of 244,315 Turkish liras (around $32,000 USD) for those caught plucking and carrying the flower.
