Turkey Informatics Council to reconvene after 20-year hiatus

The Presidential Digital Transformation Office is taking important steps to position Turkey more effectively in the global economy, where digital transformation and data-driven value chains have become the norm. The goal is to make the “Turkey Century the Century of Digital” by working with various stakeholders including public institutions, private sector, academia, and non-governmental organizations.
The 3rd Informatics Council is being organized after 20 years to address the need to handle rapidly developing new generation digital technologies with a holistic view. The Council, planned to be held at the end of this year, will bring together experts to discuss topics such as digital skills, global data economy, sustainable development, digital sovereignty, informatics law, and ethics.
Working groups formed under various associations are preparing for the Council, with the aim of proposing macro-level targets and policy recommendations for 2030 and beyond. The coordination and general organization of the Council will be carried out by the Presidential Digital Transformation Office.
More than 200 stakeholders have participated in preliminary workshops, with additional workshops planned in Istanbul. The goal is to engage a wider range of stakeholders and develop informatics-oriented policies and solutions for the future.
The Council report will highlight the importance of digital transformation and new generation digital technologies in all sectors. It will provide a roadmap that reflects the expectations of all parties involved in the digital transformation journey. The ultimate aim is to make Turkey a leading player in the digital economy of the future.
