
Turkey Police Detain 74 in Crackdown on Organized Crime

The Interior Minister, Ali Yerlikaya, recently announced on his social media account that successful operations were carried out in six provinces last week against organized criminal organizations. The ringleaders of these criminal groups were identified as Ş.K in Istanbul, F.Ö in Balıkesir, Y.K in Antalya, E.Y in Tekirdağ, NG in Kirklareli, E.K in Bursa, FYK in Bursa, and A.A in Bursa.
Yerlikaya reported that a total of 74 suspects, including the ringleaders, were arrested in these operations. Out of the arrested suspects, 43 were taken into custody, while 20 were placed under judicial control.
During the operations, law enforcement seized 20 unlicensed pistols, 5 unlicensed rifles, 2 blanket pistols, and a significant amount of cutting and piercing tools. Yerlikaya emphasized that the authorities are continuing their efforts to bring all suspects to justice.
“We are relentless in our fight against organized crime,” stated Yerlikaya. The Interior Minister reassured the public that these operations will continue to ensure the safety and security of the citizens.
