
Turkey’s Crude Oil Production Reaches 30,000 Barrels Per Day, Says Minister Bayraktar

Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Bayraktar has addressed the Parliament during ongoing budget discussions to provide an update on the country’s crude oil production. According to the Minister, the daily crude oil production has reached a level of approximately 30 thousand barrels in two fields named after martyrs Petty Officer Esma Çevik and teacher Aybüke Yalçın. It is projected that the production will reach 100 thousand barrels by the end of 2024, as the ministry continues to work intensively towards this goal.
Additionally, Minister Bayraktar emphasized the country’s potential to play a crucial role in the production of green hydrogen, given its strategic location at the center of the East-West energy block. He highlighted the impact of the country’s decisions on the region and expressed the commitment to engage in active energy diplomacy. The construction of the Iğdır-Nakhchivan pipeline is also underway, with the goal of positioning the country as an important player in energy and mining.
The Minister further announced plans for the involvement of national companies TPAO and BOTAŞ in various oil and natural gas projects in the Middle East, Africa, the Caucasus, and other regions.
In response to recent attacks by Israel on Gaza, Minister Bayraktar condemned the actions and expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people, asserting continued support for energy infrastructure in the region.
Moreover, Minister Bayraktar shared plans for utilizing revenue from energy sources, such as oil, natural gas, and mines, to support the dreams and ambitions of young people through the Family and Youth Fund regulation, which has been passed into law in the Parliament. This initiative aims to invest in the youth and secure a brighter future for the country.
