Turkey’s Industrial Production on the Rise
The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) has released the industrial production index results for the month of October, showing a positive trend in the country’s industrial sectors.
According to the report, the mining and quarrying sector index saw a notable increase of 3.7 percent in October compared to the same month of the previous year. Similarly, the manufacturing industry index and the electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning production and distribution sector index also showed growth, with increases of 1.3 percent and 3.5 percent, respectively.
However, on a monthly basis, the overall industrial production decreased by 0.4 percent. While the mining and quarrying sector index continued to grow by 3.2 percent compared to the previous month, the manufacturing industry index experienced a slight decline of 0.3 percent. The electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning production and distribution sector index saw a more significant decrease of 2.3 percent.
These results indicate a positive year-over-year trend in Turkey’s industrial production, particularly in the mining and quarrying sector. However, the slight monthly decrease in overall industrial production suggests a need for continued monitoring and potential adjustments in the future.
