Turkey’s Interior Minister accuses America of creating FETO within the country
Turkey’s Interior Minister and Istanbul 2nd Region Deputy Candidate, Süleyman Soylu, has made controversial statements about terrorist organizations during an event in Batman. Soylu stated that America invented FETO to alter Islam and make people hate it. He also claimed that America invented DAESH and Al Qaeda to bring people closer to Christianity and make people hate Islam. According to Soylu, America invented the PKK to break the bond between East and Southeast Turkey and harm Islam.
In the same speech, Soylu praised Batman and its people. He noted that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan compared Batman to Paris and remarked on the region’s energy resources. The oil in Gabar recently came out at 100,000 barrels per day, which is a significant increase from the 8,900 barrels per day from the martyred Esma Çevik well. Soylu said that this will help to meet Türkiye’s energy demands and commented on how Erdoğan united the east and west of the country.
Soylu’s remarks are likely to be controversial, especially given the ongoing conflict between Turkey and the PKK. The PKK is designated as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the United States, and the European Union, while FETO is designated as a terrorist organization by Turkey.
