Turkey’s Minister of Transport and Infrastructure assures the nation’s global prominence
Turkey has become a leading exporter of engineering services and technology, according to the country’s Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Adil Karaismailoğlu. Speaking at a rally ahead of local elections, Karaismailoğlu emphasized that Turkey’s engineering, consulting, and software exports are the nation’s most valuable, and that the country has been able to produce, develop, and export technology thanks to its many mega projects. Karaismailoğlu said that the country had achieved these accomplishments despite significant obstacles, including the events of the trip, the 2016 coup attempt, and the aftermath of the Gezi Park protests, which prompted some to doubt the country’s ability to build key infrastructure projects, like the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge and the Istanbul Airport. Looking ahead, Karaismailoğlu called on voters to continue supporting the government’s work, noting that the country’s current success could be replicated in the future.
