“Turkey’s Role in Resolving the Russia-Ukraine Conflict Discussed by Çavuşoğlu”
Turkey’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, took to Twitter to share Turkey’s efforts and initiatives during the Russia-Ukraine war. In the message titled “Russia-Ukraine War: Turkey’s Efforts, Our Entrepreneurial, Humanitarian and Effective Foreign Policy,” Çavuşoğlu stated that Turkey brought together the foreign ministers of the two countries for the first time at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum. He also shared that Turkey hosted the negotiation committees in Istanbul under the auspices of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and implemented the Istanbul Grain Agreement with the UN to prevent the global food crisis.
Çavuşoğlu also highlighted Turkey’s role in facilitating contacts between the Russian State Atomic Energy Agency (ROSATOM) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). He mentioned Turkey’s efforts in providing a prisoner exchange between Ukraine and Russia and implemented the Montreux Convention meticulously in the region.
Turkey has been actively involved in finding a peaceful solution to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. As a regional power, Turkey’s efforts have been instrumental in facilitating meaningful dialogues between the two countries. The nation has been continuously pushing for peace and stability in the region and beyond, through its humanitarian and effective foreign policy efforts.
