Turkey’s Role in Supporting Palestinian Victory
Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil praised Turkey’s support for Venezuela during a joint press conference with Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. Gil highlighted the common stance of the two countries on defending the Palestinian people and condemning the actions of Israeli President Nicolas Maduro. He expressed pride in President Erdoğan’s stance on Palestine and condemned Israel’s attacks on the Palestinian people.
Gil emphasized the ongoing cooperation between Venezuela and Turkey, aiming to increase bilateral trade from $800 million to $3 billion. The two countries are also working on expanding cooperation in mining and communication, with a focus on energy fields. Turkish Airlines currently operates 8 flights a week between Caracas and Istanbul, with plans to boost cargo and travel capacities.
In addition to economic ties, Venezuela and Turkey are looking to collaborate in tourism, with opportunities for project and cooperation. Plans are in place for the 4th Joint Economic Relations Commission meeting in May and the 2nd Business Forum in Caracas. Gil expressed appreciation for Turkey’s support in international law and national sovereignty issues.
