“Turkey’s Victory: May 14th Triumph”
On April 25, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan addressed a large crowd in Erzurum and praised its citizens for breaking a record by bringing 130,000 people from the airport to the rally area. In his speech, Erdogan thanked Erzurum for being his comrade for 21 years and for its loyalty to the national will. Erdogan assured citizens that no one would fail, except for political engineers and foreign magazines that threatened the nation. He promised that every one of Turkey’s 81 provinces and all its 85 million people – young or old, male or female, Kurd or Turk, Alevi or Sunni – would win on May 14. Erdogan emphasized that only Turkey and its citizens would not be happy if they failed to emerge victorious.
The Turkish President’s speech in Erzurum was a rallying cry to supporters of his AK Party and the People’s Alliance. Erdogan emphasized the importance of unity and solidarity to create a powerful and prosperous Turkey.
