Turkish Ambassador Metin Feyzioğlu Appears on Special BRT Broadcast
The Turkish Ambassador to Nicosia, Metin Feyzioğlu, recently participated in a special broadcast on BRT to commemorate the 8th anniversary of the treacherous coup attempt by the Fetullah Terrorist Organization in Turkey. In his statements, Ambassador Feyzioğlu emphasized the significance of July 15, 2016, as a result of a long process of preparation by FETÖ.
He highlighted the parallel state structure designed by FETÖ and its connection to external puppeteers working towards the same goals. Feyzioğlu warned of the potential consequences if the coup had been successful, including changes to the country’s administration and the rewriting of the Treaty of Sevres.
Furthermore, Feyzioğlu discussed the implications for the Turkish Cypriots and the region if the uprising had succeeded, noting the importance of unity and courage in thwarting the coup attempt in less than 24 hours. He praised President Erdoğan’s leadership and emphasized the strength of the Turkish nation when united.
The Ambassador also reflected on the significance of the July 20 Operation in Cyprus, referring to it as a Peace Operation that brought an end to the island’s turmoil and ensured the rights of Turkish Cypriots. He underscored the importance of maintaining peace and stability on the island for the past 50 years.
In conclusion, Ambassador Feyzioğlu reiterated Turkey’s commitment to supporting the welfare and future of the Turkish Cypriots, emphasizing the TRNC’s role as a stronghold of Turkey and the Turkish world in the Eastern Mediterranean. He called for the recognition of Turkish Cypriots’ sovereign equality and the equal international status of two states to foster prosperity and understanding in the region.
