Erdogan Visits Northern Cyprus, Inaugurates Republican Campus and Advocates for Peace

During his recent visit to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) for Teknofest, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan strongly condemned those who undermine the peace on the island. He emphasized that any attempts to disrupt the language of peace are unacceptable and that Turkey will not allow provocations aimed at dismantling stability.

Erdogan inaugurated the Republican Campus, a significant project completed within three years by Turkey. The campus spans 25,210 square meters and includes a Presidential Building, two conference halls, a library, and facilities designed to support the nation’s youth and promote educational initiatives.

Speaking about Teknofest, the premier technology festival, Erdogan noted participation from 50,000 young individuals across 22 countries. He highlighted the competition’s six main categories and 13 subcategories, showcasing Turkey’s commitment to fostering innovation among its youth. "This festival will open new horizons for the valuable youth of the Turkish Cypriots," he stated.

TRNC President Ersin Tatar, present during Erdogan’s visit, reiterated the importance of recognizing the dual existence of two peoples and two states on the island. He expressed gratitude for Turkey’s unwavering support and commitment to the Turkish Cypriot community.

Erdogan expressed condolences for the passing of Sirri Süreyya Önder, a deputy chairman of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, and reiterated Turkey’s dedication to advancing its defense industry and innovation through initiatives like Teknofest.

Addressing threats to Turkish Cypriots, he condemned anti-Turkish rhetoric and actions, asserting that Turkey would remain a steadfast ally of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Erdogan concluded by reinforcing that neither Turkey nor the TRNC will revert to their former states and urged continued unity and strength among Turkish Cypriots against any challenges they face.
