Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan departs TRNC
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, Hakan Fidan, Concludes Visit to Northern Cyprus
Hakan Fidan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, has completed his two-day visit to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. After a series of meetings and discussions with key figures in the region, Fidan and his delegation were seen off from Ercan Airport and headed back to Istanbul.
During his visit, Hakan Fidan met with President Ersin Tatar, Parliament Speaker Ziya Öztürkler, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu. The discussions also included Deputy Prime Minister Fikri Ataoğlu, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment, and Minister of Public Works and Transport Erhan Arıklı. Additionally, Fidan held meetings with Republican Turkish Party (CTP) Chairman Tufan Erhürman and People’s Party (HP) Chairman Kudret Özersay.
In a joint press conference with President Ersin Tatar, Hakan Fidan emphasized the challenges faced by the Turkish Cypriots due to international isolation, describing it as a silent crime against humanity. He called on the international community to recognize the two-state status of Cyprus and put it on a legal basis.
The visit of Minister Hakan Fidan underscored the importance of cooperation and dialogue between Turkey and Northern Cyprus in addressing key issues and working towards a sustainable and peaceful future for the region.
