Requirements for Turkish Civil Service Applications
The Turkish government has laid out the conditions for individuals who want to apply for civil service positions. There are nine criteria that must be met in order to qualify for a civil service position in Turkey.
Firstly, applicants must be Turkish citizens and not have been deprived of public rights. Secondly, even if the periods specified in Article 53 of the Turkish Penal Code have passed, they must not have been convicted of crimes against the security of the state, crimes against the constitutional order and functioning of this order, embezzlement, extortion, bribery, theft, fraud, forgery, abuse of trust, fraudulent bankruptcy, rigging the tender, rigging the performance of the performance, laundering the property values arising from the crime or smuggling.
Thirdly, applicants must have a clear military status. They must not be related to military service or be of military age. If an applicant has reached the age of military service, they must have done their regular military service or have been postponed or transferred to the reserve class.
Fourthly, applicants must not have a mental illness that may prevent them from performing their duty continuously.
Fifthly, while Turkish citizenship is required to apply for most positions, foreign national R&D Specialists are exempt from this requirement. They will be required to obtain a work permit if the working period exceeds one year.
Sixthly, applicants must not have received retirement, old-age, or invalidity pension from any social security institution.
Seventhly, individuals who have been dismissed from their duties or profession in accordance with the relevant disciplinary legislation of public institutions and organizations will not be accepted.
Finally, the result of the security investigation and/or archive research must be positive for an applicant to qualify for a civil service position.
