Turkish Meteorologists Warn of Heavy Rain in Istanbul and Other Provinces

The latest forecasts by the General Directorate of Meteorology indicate that the weather in Turkey will be diverse in the coming days. According to the forecasts, the northern and eastern parts of the country will experience partly cloudy skies with occasional very cloudy spells. The Eastern Black Sea, as well as the northern and eastern parts of Eastern Anatolia and the surroundings of Ordu, are expected to have local showers and thunderstorms. Other areas will have slightly cloudy to clear conditions.

In terms of temperatures, it is expected that the western regions will see temperatures 3-6 degrees above the seasonal norms, while other areas will have temperatures around normal levels. The wind is predicted to generally blow from the northerly directions, with light to occasionally moderate intensity, and locally strong winds in specific regions.

A warning has been issued for heavy rainfall in certain areas like Artvin, Erzurum, Kars, Ardahan, Ordu, Giresun, and the inner parts of Trabzon and Rize. It is advised to take precautions against potential negative events such as floods, lightning, hail, landslides, and disruptions in transportation.

Furthermore, there is a forecast for rain on Thursday, including Istanbul. Meteorology Advisor Prof. Dr. Orhan Şen has warned of the incoming rain and highlighted that regions like Thrace, Marmara, and Aegean will also experience rainfall.

Additionally, heavy thunder and showers are expected in Erzurum, Kars, Ardahan, and Artvin today, particularly during the noon and evening hours. It is essential to be cautious and take preventive measures against possible adverse effects of the thunderstorms and heavy showers.
