
Turkish Nation Celebrates Victory in Independence Struggle on August 30

President of the Assembly of the Republic, Zorlu Töre, recently delivered a powerful message regarding the significance of the victory on August 30, 1922. In his statement, Töre emphasized that this victory represented the Turkish Nation’s relentless struggle for independence.
Published on the occasion of August 30 Victory Day, Töre’s message highlighted the heroic nature of the struggle, infused with a deep love for the homeland, a steadfast commitment to independence and freedom, and an unwavering determination to succeed.
Töre remarked, “We proudly celebrate the 102nd anniversary of the August 30 Victory, a struggle that epitomized heroism through the spirit of independence and freedom. This great victory demonstrated that unity and solidarity could overcome any challenge, leading to the establishment of the Republic of Turkey and the declaration of independence. It served as a beacon of hope and inspiration for nations worldwide striving for liberation and independence, particularly the Turkish Cypriot people.”
Recognizing August 30th as a pivotal moment in the Turkish Nation’s quest for independence, Töre underscored that this victory was achieved with Atatürk’s unwavering belief in “Either Independence or Death.”
On this momentous occasion, Töre expressed profound gratitude, love, and respect for Great Leader Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, along with all those who fought alongside him, the people of Anatolia, and the valiant heroes of the independence struggle. He paid tribute to the martyrs and extended heartfelt congratulations on the Victory Day to the Turkish Nation, the Turkish Armed Forces, the Turkish Cypriot people, the members of the Cyprus Turkish Peace Forces Command, and the Security Forces Command.
