President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Visits Budapest for Official Meetings with Hungarian Leaders

Accompanying President Erdoğan on this visit are his wife Emine Erdoğan, along with several Turkish ministers and officials, including Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş, Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan, and Minister of Defense Yaşar Güler.

President Erdoğan’s schedule in Budapest includes bilateral meetings with Hungarian President Katalin Novak at the Sandor Palace, as well as a meeting with Prime Minister Viktor Orban at the Carmelita Palace. Additionally, he is set to attend the Sixth Meeting of the Turkey-Hungary High Level Strategic Cooperation Council at the Carmelita Monastery, where the two countries will review their strategic partnership and discuss potential steps to deepen their cooperation.

Furthermore, the visit coincides with the anniversary of the Treaty of Friendship signed by the two countries on December 18, 1923. As part of the visit, the opening event of the “2024 Turkey-Hungary Culture Year” will take place, in celebration of the 100th anniversary of relations between the two countries.
