Turkish Red Crescent Officials Brutally Attacked in Hatay

An altercation broke out at the Turkish Red Crescent Iskenderun Branch in Hatay, Turkey, during a food distribution event in preparation for iftar. The incident occurred when a person argued with Branch President Recep Sivri for reasons that remain unknown.

The argument escalated into a physical fight, with the suspect assaulting Sivri and two Turkish Red Crescent employees, Mehmet Balcı and Seden İlhan. Balcı sustained injuries to his face during the altercation and was promptly taken to Iskenderun State Hospital for treatment by the 112 Emergency Health team.

Following his treatment, Sivri proceeded to the police station to file a complaint against the perpetrator, who was later identified as Ali E. Police authorities reviewed security camera footage from the branch and launched an operation to apprehend the suspect.
