Turkish Vice President Yilmaz Honors Erenköy Resistance Martyrs After 60 Years
Turkey’s Vice President, Cevdet Yılmaz, recently shared a message on social media commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Erenköy Resistance. In his message, Yılmaz emphasized the importance of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus as the eternal homeland for Turkish Cypriots, built through a glorious epic defended by heroic soldiers and mujahideen.
The Erenköy Resistance holds a significant place in the history of the Turkish Cypriot struggle for freedom. Yılmaz expressed his commitment to continue moving towards a strong future, standing united with the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. He paid tribute to the heroic pilot Captain Cengiz Topel, who was martyred during the resistance, as well as all the other brave martyrs.
