
Turkish White Gold Harvest: 58 Thousand Tons of Product from 12 Thousand Hectares

The annual harvest event took place in the 10-decare area owned by farmer Bekir Gökçen in the Merkezefendi district of Ağırşamlı, Denizli. The event was attended by various dignitaries including the Governor of Denizli, Mr. Ömer Faruk Coşkun, the District Governor of Merkezefendi, Mr. Abdullah Demir, the Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry, Şakir Çınar, Chamber of Agriculture President Hamdi Gemici, as well as technical staff from the Provincial and District Directorates, private company officials, and manufacturers.
In his speech at the Cotton Harvest event, Governor Ömer Faruk Coşkun highlighted the evolution of cotton harvesting from manual labor to modern machinery. Thanks to the adoption of modern agricultural techniques, significant savings have been made in terms of labor and time. Governor Coşkun expressed his hopes for a fruitful season for all farmers in Denizli, where approximately 12 thousand hectares of cotton are cultivated, yielding over 58 thousand tons of product.
He commended the producers for their dedication to continue production in the fields and wished them success in the upcoming season. The event was not only a celebration of the harvest but also a testament to the progress and innovation in the agricultural sector, showcasing the strides made in efficiency and productivity in cotton cultivation.
