Turkmen Delegation Attends 57th ADB Meeting in Tbilisi

The Turkmen delegation, led by Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of Turkmenistan M. Orazdurdyev, is currently participating in the 57th Annual Meeting of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Tbilisi. This year’s forum, themed “Bridge to the Future,” is a significant event being held for the first time in the capital of Georgia from 2 to 5 May 2024.

With approximately 4,000 delegates from ADB’s 68 members in attendance, including ADB President Masatsugu Asakawa, finance ministers, central bank governors, senior government officials, and representatives from the private sector, academia, and media, the event aims to address key development issues facing Asia and the Pacific. These include topics such as climate change, artificial intelligence, green globalization, the economic landscape, regional cooperation, and more.

Of particular importance is the growing trade, economic, and investment cooperation between Turkmenistan and Georgia, with a significant increase in trade turnover between the two countries in the first quarter of 2024. This trend highlights the strengthening ties between the two nations.

The forum features a series of events, seminars, and presentations designed to facilitate discussions and collaborations on important regional and global issues. It serves as a platform for exchanging ideas and fostering partnerships that contribute to the sustainable development of the region.

The participation of the Turkmen delegation in the ADB’s annual meeting underscores the country’s commitment to regional cooperation and economic development. As discussions continue and partnerships evolve, both Turkmenistan and Georgia stand to benefit from the opportunities that arise from such engagements.
