Turkmen-Kazakh Commission Concludes 11th Meeting on Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation
The 11th meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Kazakh Commission on economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation has been successfully concluded. The meeting was held in Ashgabat in December 2021 and discussed several topics of mutual interest. During the meeting, both parties discussed issues of interaction in various sectors, including trade and economic cooperation, transport, finance, agriculture and water management, construction, culture, tourism, education, science, as well as the oil and gas sector.
On May 15, 2023, the Turkmen delegation participated in the 12th meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation held in Astana, co-chaired by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Batyr Atdaev and the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar. At the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the topics discussed at the previous meeting and discussed other mutual interests.
Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Roman Sklyar, highlighted the dynamic development of the current level of relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan in all areas of cooperation, which is contributed by mutual visits and meetings at the highest and high levels. Meanwhile, the Co-Chair of the Turkmen delegation emphasized that the Republic of Kazakhstan is an important trading partner of Turkmenistan in Central Asia, evidenced by the figures on the dynamic growth of mutual trade during the first four months of 2023. The Turkmen delegation expressed satisfaction with the positive dynamics in foreign trade turnover and the development of relations between the two countries, based on the principles of friendship and mutually beneficial partnership.
As a conclusion to the meeting, the Protocol was signed, which is expected to further promote and deepen bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
