Turkmen Leader Meets with UAE Economy Minister
National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, recently had a productive meeting with the Minister of Economy of the United Arab Emirates, Abdullah bin Touq Al-Marri. The meeting, which took place on June 25, 2024, focused on discussing the prospects for further developing the mutually beneficial partnership between the two countries.
During the meeting, Abdullah bin Touq Al-Marri conveyed warm greetings from the President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, expressing the UAE government’s interest in strengthening the fruitful dialogue with Turkmenistan. In response, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed his confidence that the visit of the UAE Minister of Economy would contribute to enhancing and expanding bilateral cooperation between the two nations.
The discussions also touched upon the existing cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UAE in the fuel and energy sector. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted the positive experience of working with leading UAE companies and invited Emirati business circles to participate in international projects in Turkmenistan, particularly in the oil and gas sector.
Both leaders acknowledged the immense potential for building fruitful contacts in various areas such as trade, investment, transport, “green” energy, and ecology. They expressed their optimism for the progressive development of an equal and mutually trusting interstate dialogue that benefits both Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates.
The meeting concluded with the exchange of good wishes, underscoring the commitment to strengthening the partnership between the two nations for the mutual benefit of their peoples.
