Turkmen National Leader Holds Talks with Kyrgyz President
The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, recently held talks with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Zhaparov, during the latter’s working visit to Turkmenistan on October 11, 2024. The meeting between the two leaders took place in the context of the International Forum commemorating the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi.
Berdimuhamedov warmly welcomed Zhaparov and expressed his gratitude for his participation in the forum, as well as congratulated him on receiving the jubilee medal “Magtymguly Pyragynyň 300 ýyllygyna.” The discussions during the meeting focused on various areas of bilateral cooperation, as well as regional and global issues of mutual interest.
Zhaparov, in turn, emphasized Kyrgyzstan’s commitment to strengthening its friendly relations with Turkmenistan, based on principles of goodwill, mutual respect, and trust. He presented Berdimuhamedov with a collection of poems by Magtymguly Fragi in the Kyrgyz language, highlighting the cultural significance of the publication.
Both leaders acknowledged the constructive cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Kyrgyz Republic in various fields, including trade, energy, transport, agriculture, industry, and the private sector. They also underscored the importance of collaboration in the humanitarian sphere, focusing on common spiritual and cultural heritage, as well as joint initiatives in culture, education, and sports.
Berdimuhamedov and Zhaparov reiterated their commitment to fostering friendly relations between Turkmenistan and the Kyrgyz Republic, wishing each other health and success, and prosperity for their respective peoples. The meeting further solidified the strong ties between the two countries and laid the groundwork for continued cooperation in the future.
