Turkmen National Leader speaks with Turkish President
The National leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag Gurbanuly Berdimuhamedov, recently engaged in a telephone conversation with the President of the Turkish Republic, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on March 30, 2025. During the call, the two leaders exchanged warm greetings and extended congratulations to each other on the sacred holiday of Oraz. They expressed hope for the Almighty to accept all noble deeds carried out during this blessed month.
President Erdogan specifically congratulated Hero-Arkadag on the adoption of the UN General Assembly resolution affirming the “Constant neutrality of Turkmenistan.” He lauded this achievement as a testament to Turkmenistan’s commitment to global peace, well-being, and sustainable development. In response, Hero-Arkadag thanked President Erdogan for the kind words and recognition of Turkmenistan’s neutrality policy.
The leaders discussed the participation of the Turkish delegation in the international conference “The Year of Peace and Provenness: the development of international activity in the name of children,” dedicated to the charitable fund assisting children under the care of the Gurbanuly Berdimuhamedov Children’s Home. President Erdogan expressed gratitude for the Turkmen hospitality during the event, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts for children’s future and well-being.
Turkmenistan and Turkey are strategic trade and economic partners, with a focus on strengthening multifaceted bilateral relations based on mutual respect and support. Cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two nations was also highlighted, emphasizing the shared history, culture, and values of Turkmen and Turkish peoples.
Hero-Arkadag conveyed gratitude for President Erdogan’s efforts in fostering friendly bilateral relations and extended well wishes for his health and continued success in state activities. President Erdogan, in return, conveyed warm greetings to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
