Turkmen National Leader Visits Kazakhstan
The National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, recently made a working visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan. The purpose of his visit was to participate in the official opening ceremony of the 5th World Nomad Games, which was held at the invitation of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
Upon his arrival at Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport in Astana, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was greeted by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov and other officials. The motorcade then proceeded to the Akorda Palace, where a meeting between the National Leader of the Turkmen People and President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev took place.
During the meeting, both leaders expressed satisfaction with the opportunity to discuss important issues of interstate cooperation. President Tokayev thanked Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for accepting the invitation to the World Nomad Games opening, highlighting the significance of the visit for further promoting bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
The leaders acknowledged the growing dynamics of their interstate dialogue in recent years, emphasizing the strategic partnership between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan. They discussed the implementation of previous agreements and emphasized the importance of cooperation through international and regional organizations.
Cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries was also a focal point of the meeting. Both leaders noted the common cultural and spiritual values shared by Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan, highlighting the installation of monuments to prominent cultural figures in each other’s capitals.
Additionally, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov invited President Tokayev to Turkmenistan to attend celebrations marking the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi’s birth. President Tokayev accepted the invitation, expressing confidence that the visit would enhance Turkmen-Kazakh cooperation.
