Turkmenistan to Celebrate 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust
President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, announced during a recent meeting that the year 2025 will be celebrated in the country under the motto “International Year of Peace and Trust”. The decision was made in line with Turkmenistan’s initiative, which gained support from the international community. The United Nations General Assembly officially declared 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust on March 21, 2024, with the resolution being co-sponsored by 86 states.
Dunyagozel Gulmanova, Chairperson of the Mejlis, shared with the meeting the outcomes of the efforts to select the motto and emblem for the upcoming year. Following suggestions from the public, the Mejlis drafted a resolution designating the upcoming year as the “International Year of Peace and Trust” and presented the emblem for the year.
President Berdimuhamedov highlighted the significance of 2025 for Turkmenistan, as the country will celebrate the 30th anniversary of its permanent neutrality. Various international events are being planned both in Turkmenistan and abroad to mark this occasion. A State Organizing Committee has been formed to coordinate the celebrations, with the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan overseeing its management.
The President emphasized that Turkmenistan will remain committed to the principles of peaceful coexistence and dialogue, which are fundamental to its foreign policy.
With 2025 set to be a year of peace and trust, Turkmenistan looks forward to contributing to global harmony and cooperation.
