Turkmenistan Delegation Participates in GCC + Central Asia Ministerial Meeting
The delegation of Turkmenistan recently participated in the Second Ministerial Meeting of the “GCC + Central Asia” Strategic Dialogue in Tashkent. Led by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs, R. Meredov, the Turkmenistan delegation engaged with counterparts from Central Asia and member countries of the Cooperation Council of the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC).
During the forum, discussions revolved around enhancing cooperation in various sectors including trade, economy, investment, transportation, culture, humanitarian efforts, environment, and tourism within the GCC – Central Asia framework. The status of the implementation of the “Joint Action Plan on Strategic Communication and cooperation for 2023-2027” was also reviewed.
Additionally, the meeting included conversations on current international and regional issues, as well as preparations for the upcoming “GCC-Central Asia” summit scheduled to take place in Uzbekistan in 2025.
Turkmenistan’s delegation highlighted key issues and proposed initiatives to strengthen cooperation among participating countries in areas such as transportation, energy, trade, economy, culture, and humanitarian efforts.
As a result of the Second Ministerial Meeting in Tashkent, a Joint Statement was issued by the heads of foreign affairs agencies from Central Asia and the Arab States of the Gulf, outlining the shared goals and commitments towards advancing collaboration in the region.
