Turkmenistan President Joins Central Asia-Germany High-Level Meeting
The President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, recently participated in a high-level meeting in the “Central Asia-Germany” format held in Kazakhstan. The second meeting of its kind took place on September 17, 2024, with various leaders from Central Asia and Germany in attendance.
President Berdimuhamedov arrived in Astana and was welcomed by the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Olzhas Bektenov, and other officials. The meeting was hosted at the Palace of Independence, where President Berdimuhamedov was warmly greeted by the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The summit, chaired by President Tokayev, was also attended by the Federal Chancellor of Germany, Olaf Scholz, along with other Central Asian leaders. Discussions focused on regional cooperation and the strengthening of strategic partnerships between the Central Asian countries and Germany.
President Berdimuhamedov highlighted the importance of cooperation in maintaining regional peace, security, and stability. He emphasized the need for closer political and diplomatic collaboration to benefit the region as a whole. The President also addressed key issues such as trade, economic cooperation, climate change, and humanitarian efforts.
