Turkmenistan President meets with Georgian Parliament Chairman
President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, recently welcomed the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, on April 9, 2024. During the meeting, they discussed various aspects of bilateral cooperation and exchanged greetings from the leaders of their respective countries.
The President emphasized the importance of closer interaction between the legislative bodies of Turkmenistan and Georgia, highlighting the potential for collaboration in trade, economy, energy, industry, healthcare, and transport. The strengthening of inter-parliamentary cooperation was also a key point of discussion, as well as the significance of cultural and humanitarian exchanges between the two nations.
In a gesture of goodwill, President Berdimuhamedov extended an invitation to the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia to participate in the International Forum dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the renowned Turkmen poet and philosopher, Magtymguly Fragi, scheduled for October 11 in Ashgabat. The guest expressed gratitude for the invitation and praised the cultural significance of Magtymguly Fragi’s work.
Both leaders expressed optimism about the continued development of friendly relations between Turkmenistan and Georgia, wishing each other success and prosperity for their countries. The meeting concluded on a positive note, with a reaffirmation of the commitment to deepening ties and cooperation between the two nations.
