Turkmenistan President Meets with Turkish Energy Minister
President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, recently met with the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Türkiye, Alparslan Bayraktar. The meeting took place on March 19, 2025, as part of the International Conference “International Year of Peace and Trust: the Role of Interregional Economic Cooperation in Ensuring Sustainable Development”.
During the meeting, Alparslan Bayraktar conveyed warm greetings to President Berdimuhamedov from the President of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdogan. In response, President Berdimuhamedov expressed his best wishes to the President of Türkiye and expressed confidence that the international forum would enhance interstate cooperation in the energy sector.
The Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Türkiye highlighted the strong and longstanding Turkmen-Turkish relations, emphasizing the successful collaboration in various sectors, particularly the energy sector. He underscored the importance of Turkmen gas supply to Türkiye and other interested countries.
President Berdimuhamedov reaffirmed Turkmenistan’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with Türkiye in the energy sector and expressed interest in exploring additional areas of collaboration. Both leaders expressed optimism that the fruitful interstate cooperation between the two countries would continue to prosper for the mutual benefit of Turkmenistan and Türkiye.
