Turkish Wrestling Team Takes Third Place in European Championship
The Turkish Wrestling Federation has announced that the national team has achieved great success in the recently concluded European Championship held in Santiago de Compostela. The team secured 1 gold, 1 silver, and 3 bronze medals, totaling 126 points and claiming the third spot in the competition.
With an impressive performance, the Ukrainian team dominated the championship, collecting 190 points and earning the title of European champions. Hungary closely followed them, securing second place with 128 points. Meanwhile, the Turkish national team clinched a well-deserved third place finish.
Among the outstanding athletes representing the Turkish team, Tuba Demir stood tall as she won the gold medal in the 55-kilogram category. Zerda Demir showcased her skills and bagged the silver medal in the 50-kilogram category. Şevval Çayır exhibited great determination, earning a bronze medal in the 57-kilogram category. Sevim Akbaş and Selvi İlyasoğlu also demonstrated their prowess by each receiving a bronze medal in the 59-kilogram and 62-kilogram categories, respectively.
