Ras Al Khaimah Emirate Sets Two Guinness World Records During New Year’s Celebration
The Ras Al Khaimah Emirate in the UAE achieved a remarkable feat during its New Year’s drone and fireworks show by setting two new Guinness World Records. The Tourism Development Department of the emirate (RAKTDA) announced this impressive accomplishment.
RAKTDA head Raki Phillips expressed pride in the emirate’s tourism achievements for 2024, stating that the New Year’s celebration was a vibrant reflection of Ras Al Khaimah’s success. The two Guinness World Records were awarded for “the largest tree figure formed by drones in the air” and “the largest seashell figure formed by drones in the air.”
The dazzling “Our Story in the Sky” show showcased the history and culture of Ras Al Khaimah. Over a four-kilometer stretch of coastline, 1,400 drones, lasers, and pyrotechnics were used to deliver a three-part performance. The first segment highlighted the emirate’s ecosystem, the second celebrated its maritime heritage and pearl diving, and the third focused on the history of navigation. The show culminated in a spectacular fireworks display.
The innovative spirit and cultural identity of Ras Al Khaimah shone brightly during this record-breaking event, solidifying its position as a leading tourist destination.
