UBP and CTP MPs Attend Group Meeting at BRTK

Following a break in the session of the General Assembly of the Republic Assembly, convened for the purpose of electing the presidential council, deputies from the National Unity Party (UBP) and the Republican Turkish Party (CTP) are currently engaged in a group meeting.
The Parliament Speaker, Zorlu Töre, announced that UBP Deputy Ziya Öztürkler had been elected as the Speaker of the Parliament in the last round. However, the opposition raised objections to the result, citing the presence of more than one seal in 3 out of the 26 votes cast for Öztürkler.
Subsequent to the announcement by Parliament Speaker Zorlu Töre that the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament would be elected after the session break, CTP Deputy and Council member Devrim Barçın indicated that they had called for a council meeting to assess the election ballots.
Currently, the group meeting of UBP and CTP MPs is ongoing, with expectations for the council to convene as well.
The Parliamentary Presidential election process, which transpired over 11 days since October 7, saw ballot boxes being set up 15 times in the General Assembly for candidates Zorlu Töre, Kutlu Evren, Zorlu Töre, and Ziya Öztürkler. Deputies cast their votes a total of 15 times throughout the process.
