UBP and DP Deputies propose Mediation Law to Parliament

National Unity Party (UBP) Kyrenia Deputy Dr. Hasan Küçük and Democratic Party (DP) Secretary General Kyrenia Deputy Serhat Akpınar have jointly introduced the “Mediation Law” to the Republican Assembly in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

In a statement, Dr. Hasan Küçük highlighted the importance of the proposed law in expediting the justice system in the TRNC. He mentioned that if the law is passed, it will lead to faster operation of the justice system, reduced burden on police and courts, and development of a culture of reconciliation in the society.

Dr. Hasan Küçük emphasized, “The Mediation Law is crucial for the advancement of our country’s legal system. With this law, court cases will be handled more efficiently, leading to quicker resolution of disputes and access to justice for citizens at a lower cost. I am proud to present this significant law to our parliament and look forward to working together to implement it successfully.”

Dr. Hasan Küçük expressed his confidence that the Mediation Law will not only simplify access to justice for people but also foster social reconciliation in the TRNC.
