Minister Hakan Dinçyürek has made a statement regarding the prevention of the entry of undeclared green prescription drugs into the country. He emphasized that the Ministry of Health is working in cooperation with the police to address this issue.

During his appearance as a guest on the “Sabah Postası” program on Kıbrıs Postası TV, Dinçyürek assured that measures are being taken to ensure that undeclared green prescription drugs are effectively kept out of the country.

He also announced the installation of a tomography device at Cengiz Topel Hospital, and the initiation of the installation work for a high-level tomography device at Famagusta State Hospital. He further highlighted that the budget for the Ministry of Health extends beyond the law passed in the Assembly of the Republic and that the needs of hospitals in the TRNC are being met with resources provided by Turkey for health.

Dinçyürek also discussed the issue of medicine shortages at health centers, stating that efforts are being made to ensure patients have access to the necessary medications. He affirmed that the primary duty of the Ministry is to create an environment where the patient will not be victimized.

Furthermore, he stressed that green prescription drugs, which have caused problems in entering the country, will no longer be allowed to do so without proper declaration and cooperation with the police. Any expired green prescription drugs are being disposed of properly to prevent their misuse.

Dinçyürek also unveiled plans for Kyrenia Hospital, which is expected to be fully operational in 2024, bringing much-needed advancement in healthcare facilities to the region.
