United Nations Games Resolution Approved by UN General Assembly
Turkmenistan and India Lead UN Resolution on United Nations Games
On September 6, 2024, Turkmenistan and India successfully initiated the Resolution “United Nations Games” during the 107th plenary meeting of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly. The resolution was passed under agenda item 11, which focuses on the theme of “Sport for peace and development: Building a peaceful and better world through sport and the Olympic ideals”.
The Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the UN, Aksoltan Ataeva, presented the resolution to the General Assembly, highlighting its goal of establishing a strong platform for promoting peace and development through sports.
