Kasım Karakaş Running As Independent Metropolitan Mayor Candidate
Kasım Karakaş, a politician who has previously worked with the Future Party and served as the Provincial Chairman of the SES Party, has recently announced his candidacy for Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor as an independent candidate. This decision came after his party failed to secure the right to enter the local elections.
Despite starting his campaign early, Karakaş has faced challenges gaining recognition among the public due to his absence from media coverage and election surveys. He is determined to position himself as an alternative option for citizens, but without visibility, his efforts have largely gone unnoticed.
Karakaş expressed frustration, stating, “Unfortunately, no one gives us a place in the polls. Since we are individuals, probably because we do not pay money, no one puts us in the spotlight. Unfortunately, when we walk on the street, no one recognizes us. We emerged as an alternative.”
The lack of coverage has especially affected his ability to reach voters at a local and national level, leading to a lack of awareness about his candidacy. He emphasized the need for inclusion in election surveys and expressed a desire for support from both local and national media.
Despite these challenges, Karakaş remains committed to his campaign. He urged for a fair portrayal in the press, stating, “We may not have money, but we have a struggle too. We want support on this issue.”
As the mayoral race continues, Karakaş hopes to overcome these obstacles and gain the visibility necessary to effectively engage with voters and convey his platform.
