US Expert Warns: Nuclear War Could Kill 5 Billion in 72 Minutes, Only Two Countries Would Survive

The Diary of A CEO podcast recently featured an interview with Jacobsen, who shared shocking details about the potential timeline of destruction in a nuclear war scenario. According to Jacobsen, a ballistic missile launched from Russia would take approximately 26 minutes and 40 seconds to reach the East Coast of the USA. This information aligns with the analysis conducted by nuclear physicist Herb York in 1959-60, which is still relevant today.
In a grim prediction, Jacobsen, a Pulitzer Finalist in 2016, stated that the world could change drastically in less than 90 minutes, with only 72 minutes to make critical decisions in the event of a nuclear war or mutual attack. He emphasized the immense time pressure that leaders would face once a nuclear launch is detected.
Furthermore, the US President would have a mere six minutes to decide on a course of action in response to an attack, choosing from a set of secret retaliation options outlined in the “Black Book.”
Jacobsen also discussed the potential impact of a nuclear winter, citing research by Atmospheric Science Specialist Professor Brian Toon. According to Toon, countries like New Zealand and Australia may have a better chance of surviving a nuclear winter due to their geographical isolation and stable climates, which could protect their agricultural production systems.
Jacobsen suggested that maintaining agriculture would be crucial in a post-nuclear war world, with New Zealand and Australia potentially being able to preserve this valuable resource.
As the world grapples with the grim realities of nuclear war, it is essential to consider the potential consequences and take steps to prevent such a catastrophic event from ever occurring.
