US Grants $250 Million in Military Aid to Ukraine

The US Administration Announces New Military Aid Package for Ukraine
The US administration has announced that it will be sending a new military aid package to Ukraine after failing to pass a $61 billion defense aid package through Congress before the new year. The $250 million military aid package includes surface-to-air missile systems, Stinger missiles, artillery ammunition, antitank weapons, and other weapons necessary for the Ukrainian army.
In a written statement from the Pentagon, it was announced that the Joe Biden administration is expected to continue its efforts in the new year to pass the package, which includes $61 billion in additional support for Ukraine. The package had been blocked by Republicans in the Senate.
The bill, which was brought to the agenda in the last days of December, did not receive the support of Republicans in the Senate. They cited the absence of additional measures to increase the security of the southern borders of the USA as the reason for their lack of support.
Despite the setback in passing the original $61 billion defense aid package, the US administration is moving forward with providing military aid to Ukraine. This decision comes amid ongoing tensions between Ukraine and Russia, and the US’s continued commitment to supporting Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
