US Soldiers Monitor Turkish Border for Terrorists
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a strong statement regarding Türkiye’s determination to protect its survival during the last cabinet meeting. Emphasizing that Türkiye has shown its unwavering will in the past, Erdoğan warned that Türkiye may take sudden action if necessary.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan echoed this sentiment in a recent broadcast, stating that if the expected actions are not taken against the terrorist organization YPG, military operations will be carried out. Fidan highlighted the ongoing military preparations in the region liberated from PKK/YPG terrorists and the increased alert levels along various fronts.
On the other hand, Mazlum Kobani, a leader of the PKK/YPG terrorist organization, declared that they have no intention of leaving Syria and are committed to the unity of the country. The PKK/YPG’s stance has raised concerns about the future of the region and potential conflicts.
Meanwhile, a US delegation visited Türkiye to discuss the latest developments in Syria and joint efforts against terrorism. US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin emphasized the importance of maintaining US presence in Syria to prevent the resurgence of terrorist threats. The number of US soldiers in Syria has reportedly increased to 2,000, despite previous plans for withdrawal under the Trump administration.
