USAID Improves Kazakhstan’s Customs Processing with State-of-the-Art Computer Servers
USAID and U.S. Ambassador Deliver Advanced Computer Servers to Kazakhstan’s State Revenue Committee
ASTANA — The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and U.S. Ambassador Daniel Rosenblum recently handed over advanced computer servers to the State Revenue Committee (SRC) of Kazakhstan. This significant upgrade, which took place at the SRC headquarters on Aug. 14, is aimed at enhancing Kazakhstan’s customs infrastructure.
The new servers, manufactured by Dell Inc., are set to replace outdated equipment that has been impeding the efficiency of Kazakhstan’s customs operations. These servers will support the SRC’s new customs IT system, designed to improve the speed and security of customs clearance processes.
Ambassador Rosenblum highlighted the importance of adopting innovative technologies to streamline processes, enhance accuracy, improve transparency, and create a business-friendly environment that attracts more investors and boosts economic growth. He also emphasized the broader benefits of the project, aiming to make trade in Kazakhstan and with its neighbors more efficient and less costly, ultimately increasing trade volumes for all trading partners.
The introduction of the new system marks a significant advancement in Kazakhstan’s customs infrastructure. The system is expected to reduce clearance times, enhance data security through automation, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, and ensure scalability for future growth.
Through the provision of high-performance server infrastructure, USAID is supporting a more efficient and secure customs environment in Kazakhstan. Ambassador Rosenblum highlighted the shared vision of the U.S. and Kazakhstan for a transparent and secure trade environment, as Kazakhstan solidifies its role as a leading regional trade hub. He also noted the importance of diverse trade routes, particularly across the Caspian Sea and the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, which will be facilitated by the new infrastructure.
SRC Chairman Zhandos Duisembiyev expressed his gratitude for the U.S. support and the positive impact that the new servers will have on Kazakhstan’s customs operations. He emphasized the essential nature of this collaboration in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the country’s customs procedures.
Overall, the delivery of advanced computer servers by USAID and Ambassador Rosenblum signifies a significant step forward for Kazakhstan’s customs infrastructure, paving the way for increased efficiency, security, and growth in trade operations.
