USAID Introduces Automated Water Flow Metering System on Garagum Canal

A new automated system for metering water flow has been launched along the Garagum Canal near Ashgabat, thanks to the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the State Water Resources Committee. Developed by the “Bosphorus” youth center and the “Garagumderýasuwhojalyk” association, this system will provide valuable data on water flows and intakes along the canal.

The information collected by the automated water accounting system will be recorded in special software, allowing the government of Turkmenistan to access real-time data for better planning and distribution of water resources. This will benefit agriculture, drinking needs, and industry in the region.

This new system represents a step forward in managing water resources along the Garagum Canal, providing more accurate and timely information for decision-making.
