A New Era Begins in the Rural Lands of Mormenekşe
The cross-border Mormenekşe rural lands water infrastructure project has officially commenced with a special ceremony in the village of Borders. The event began with a moment of silence and the singing of the national anthem, marking the start of an important development for the region.
Minister of Internal Affairs Dursun Oğuz emphasized the significance of Iskele as the most developed region in the country. He urged for the Rural Lands designated for young people to be utilized for their intended purpose and reiterated that the infrastructures of the lands lacking in infrastructure will be completed expeditiously. Oğuz highlighted that rural lands are an entitlement for settlement and should not be used for any other purpose.
Turkey’s Ambassador to Nicosia, Metin Feyzioğlu, conveyed the well wishes of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the commencement ceremony. Feyzioğlu stressed the importance of not neglecting rural areas and maintaining a close connection with the local people. He also mentioned that they are working on various projects to enhance productivity within the scope of agreements between Turkey and the TRNC.
Prime Minister Ünal Üstel shared the government’s commitment to fulfill and complete all pending projects in the country. He assured that with the support of the Republic of Turkey and President Erdoğan, water supply and road construction will be prioritized for areas with infrastructure deficiencies. Additionally, low-interest loan projects for rural areas and social housing projects for the youth were also mentioned in Üstel’s address.
The start of the cross-border Mormenekşe rural lands water infrastructure project signifies a new era for the region, promising improved living conditions, enhanced infrastructure, and opportunities for the younger generation to thrive and prosper within their homeland. With the support of government officials and international collaborations, the future looks promising for the development and growth of the rural lands.
