Vatican Secretary Visits Mongolia for 3 Days
Vatican Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations, Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, has arrived in Mongolia for a three-day visit. This visit is part of the ongoing diplomatic relations between the Holy See and Mongolia, and comes just 24 hours after the announcement that Pope Francis will be visiting the country between August 31st and September 4th.
During his visit, Gallagher has met with several Mongolian authorities, including Foreign Minister B. Battsetseg and Premier L. Oyun-Erden. He also held talks with Mongolian President U. Khurelsukh before visiting the Chinggis Khan National Museum, which houses more than 12,000 historical artifacts and offers a comprehensive perspective on the Mongol Empire.
This visit shows the mutual interest of both the Vatican and Mongolia to strengthen their bilateral relationship. It is hoped that this visit will provide a further opportunity to deepen their relations, particularly in areas of mutual concern such as peace, social justice, and environmental protection.
