An out-of-control vehicle crashes into restaurant in Maltepe
Late last night, an out-of-control car crashed into the entrance of a restaurant on Cevizli Mahallesi Tugay Yolu Street in Maltepe. The driver, identified only as BA, reportedly lost control of the steering wheel due to excessive speed, causing the vehicle with license plate 34 CVC 493 to veer into the restaurant. BA sustained minor injuries in the accident, but thankfully, the patrons inside the restaurant were unharmed.
Emergency services, including the police and medical teams, were quickly dispatched to the scene. After receiving first aid, BA was transported to the hospital by ambulance, and the crashed car was later removed from the site with the assistance of a tow truck.
An individual named Anıl Çakıcı, who was present at the restaurant during the incident, recounted the harrowing experience, saying, “The vehicle was very fast. It hit the pontoons and went straight into the window from there. I was also close to the window. We were 3 people, thank God we had nothing. The accident was one-sided. When he hit the pontoons, he could not slow down and entered the shop. Only the driver went to the hospital. He was also in good health.”
The incident serves as a sobering reminder of the potential dangers of excessive speed and the importance of safe driving practices. It also underscores the resilience and good fortune of those who narrowly escaped harm.
